Collaboration is a new essential skill

” Billy doesn’t play nice in the sandbox” is an unwelcomed comment to any parent who wants their child to be socially adjusted. The idea of “playing nice” with others is not the same as collaboration. When we collaborate , we are working jointly towards a common goal or task.

In collaborative work, each member brings their own skills and talents which the group can benefit as a whole. The process is something that needs to be learned and practiced. We will all make mistakes and need to allow others and ourselves some space to fail.
